Delete your account
You can permanently delete your Chommie account and the personal data associated with it at any time. There are two ways to do it — inside the app, or by email if you no longer have the app installed.
1. Delete in the app (instant)
This is the fastest route and erases everything immediately:
- Open Chommie and go to Settings.
- Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete account.
- Confirm the two-step prompt (“Continue” → “Delete forever”).
Your account and all server-side data are erased straight away, and the copy held on your device is wiped as you are signed out. This cannot be undone.
2. Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email [email protected] from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We may ask you to confirm ownership of the address before we proceed. We action email requests within 30 days, as required by the UK GDPR.
3. What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes:
- Your account and sign-in details (email, login sessions).
- Your conversation history with Chommie.
- Your memory data — both the visible portion you can read in the app and the private portion Chommie uses internally.
- Your profile and personal details.
- Reminders, scheduled nudges, and tool-call records.
- Your remaining minute balance.
- Your device push-notification tokens.
4. What is kept, and for how long
- Backups — any backups containing your data are overwritten within 30 days of deletion.
- Operational logs — server diagnostic logs are anonymised on the same timeline, so they no longer identify you.
- Records we must keep by law — where applicable, limited transaction records required for tax or accounting are retained for the legally mandated period, then deleted.
5. Purchases and minutes
Deleting your account forfeits any unused minute balance. Minute packs are consumable purchases and are not refundable on deletion. Refund requests for purchases are handled through Google Play.
